The catch at Four Seasons Private Island Maldives at Voavah is equally enormous: you cannot book just the water villa, because Voavah is available only as a whole-island buyout.

What exclusive use actually means

Voavah accepts one booking for the entire island, accommodating up to about 21 guests under the current main-site description. The official villa-rental page describes up to 20, so confirm exact adult and child configuration rather than trying to resolve a one-person discrepancy through optimism.

The island includes seven bedrooms, Beach House, private spa, PADI dive centre, pools, beaches, water sports, and Voavah Summer, a 19-metre yacht. A dedicated team led by an Island Chief handles dining, activities, childcare, housekeeping, and celebrations around the clock.

Privacy is operational as well as geographic, with one entry point, 24-hour security, patrols, CCTV, and night vision. Two staff rooms accommodate personal security or household employees, and yacht cabins may add flexibility under arrangements confirmed directly.

The Two-Bedroom Water Villa

The official Water Villa page lists 553 sq. m on the island’s southwest side, two king beds, a child sofabed, rollaways and cribs, and occupancy of four adults plus two children.

It overlooks lagoon and ocean and has two full bathrooms, outdoor showers, and a guest shower room.

One main bedroom connects to a study or child’s room, while the second king bedroom occupies a separate pavilion. The air-conditioned living and dining room includes a pantry and opens to a deck with hammocks, loungers, dining, lagoon steps, and a 17-metre sunset pool.

This is not a category upgrade because there is no other overwater room to compare. The choice is who sleeps here, while the rest of the party uses the Three-Bedroom Beach Villa and the Beach House Mezzanine Suites.

How to assign the seven bedrooms

The 1,077 sq. m Three-Bedroom Beach Villa holds six adults and two children, with three king bedrooms in separate pavilions, a huge sunbathing pool, and an attached study or children’s room.

It suits guests who prioritise sand, garden showers, and easier shore access.

Two 94 sq. m Mezzanine Suites sit upstairs in the Beach House, each with king bed, balcony, ocean view, and outdoor shower, while a nearby bunk room sleeps four children.

These are excellent for adults who want to be near social spaces, gym, library, pool table, and main island action.

Assign rooms before arrival based on children, mobility, privacy, view, and late-night habits. The Water Villa offers the most dramatic couple setting, but parents of very young children may prefer bedrooms on land.

The water and reef

Voavah lies inside the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, with direct lagoon access, private dive operation, water sports, and yacht excursions. Coral, turtles, dolphins, sharks, and mantas are possible, but no wild animal accepts a villa contract.

Baa Atoll is celebrated for seasonal manta aggregation, especially around regulated Hanifaru Bay. Ask which dates typically align with excursions, what permissions apply, whether access is snorkel-only, and how the team handles cancellation when conditions or animals disagree.

Getting there privately

The official access page lists about 35 minutes by seaplane from Velana International Airport or 20 minutes from Maafaru, using an eight-seat VIP Flying Triggerfish or standard 14-seat aircraft. The standard baggage reference is 20 kilograms per person, with special arrangements available.
