Curiously, the current directory labels this category “sunset facing ocean.” That makes it essential to ask what the dedicated Sunset upgrade adds beyond the standard bungalow’s own listed orientation.
Sunset Water Bungalow
The Sunset Water Bungalow is described as positioned for uninterrupted sunset views, again with glass floor, hammock, and direct lagoon access. The current room directory lists the same maximum of three adults and king-bed setup.
Cinnamon does not clearly publish a different size or a pool for this category on the current overview. Pay the supplement only after receiving a useful answer about exact view, jetty position, screening, and whether the allocation is guaranteed rather than requested.
Our pick and the upgrade test
Start with the standard Water Bungalow because it already claims sunset-facing ocean views. Ask the reservations team for a current jetty map and a side-by-side list of differences, then upgrade only if the Sunset category guarantees a more open western exposure.
This is where a concrete answer beats a romantic adjective. “Better sunset” should translate into a specific row, aspect, or unobstructed horizon, not simply a higher total.
Neither current water category advertises a private pool, so do not infer one from aspirational photos elsewhere on the site. Platinum Beach Bungalows use a separate adults-only island area and exclusive pool facilities, but they are on sand rather than over water.
Villa position in a very large lagoon
Ask about walking distance to Malaafaiy Restaurant, Veli Bar, spa, and the main island facilities. A far bungalow can feel wonderfully private until the sky opens during dinner hour.

Cinnamon currently offers All Inclusive and Premium All Inclusive packages, while the resort lists Malaafaiy, Corals, Summer Restaurant & Bar, and venues reserved for Platinum Island guests. The plan document, not the number of restaurant icons, controls what you can eat without a supplement.
The current Corals page says it is chargeable to all guests regardless of meal plan. Summer Restaurant & Bar carries the same warning, a useful reminder that special venues can remain extra even on Premium All Inclusive.
Ask which buffet is assigned to water guests, what premium changes, which drinks and wine are included, and how minibar replenishment works. Confirm snacks, room service, private dinners, restaurant reservations, and meal availability around transfer times.
